Benefits to Patients
By participating in Recovery International self-help groups, your patients learn to:
- Manage stress, panic, anxiety, depression, anger, irrational fears, phobias, compulsions, obsessions and other emotional/behavioral problems;
- Identify and manage negative thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviors and replace them with healthy thinking and constructive activity;
- Face, tolerate and manage functional complaints and psychosomatic symptoms such as heart palpitations, dizziness, shortness of breath, sweats, fatigue, headaches, numbness, chest pressure and sleep problems; and
- Change how they react to people and situations over which they would typically have no control.
Your patients’ practice of the Recovery International Method leads to:
- Empowerment;
- Reframing;
- Self-management;
- Empathy;
- Positive self-talk and action; and
- Unconditional positive regard.
