Corrections/Judicial System
If you represent a correctional facility looking for an established cognitive restructuring program to reduce recidivism and violent incidents in your facility or to be used as a jail diversion program, Abrahm Low Self-Help Systems can meet your needs.
The Power to Change for Corrections is a program where inmates learn impulse control and how to manage their anger and fears. The program can also be used by the courts system as a jail diversion prrogram.
- Letter of recommendation from chief of corrections, Lake County Jail.
- Read about the program's success in Twin Towers Correctional Facility, Los Angeles.
The benefit to both approaches with The Power to Change for Corrections is that the sentenced and incarcerated will have Recovery International meetings in their communities to continue their life skills work following release or completion of the court-ordered program to reduce recidivism and future offenses resulting in court hearings.
Beyond its subtitle, The Power to Change for Corrections is a life skills program. Participants learn to take control of their lives, rather than be victims of events or of other people’s behavior. The underlying premise is that while individuals have little control over the events or people around them, they can control their own thoughts and impulses. Through ongoing training and practice, they form new cognitive and behavioral habits that help them gain mastery over their angry or fearful reactions.
